North Dumfries residents step up to make park revitalization project reality
Residents of Brown's Subdivision in North Dumfries spent a year transforming an underused greenspace into Oakwoods Park. Reopened in June, the park now includes The Meeting Place, a new pavilion funded through WRCF's Community Grants program with support from the North Dumfries Community Fund.
Celebrating 25 years of Impact across Waterloo Region
In 2000, Michael Barnstijn and Louise MacCallum made charity history by donating $13.4 million to WRCF – the largest gift ever made by a living donor to a Canadian community foundation at the time. Twenty-five years later, their contributions have grown to nearly $27 million, funding over 500 grants that have transformed arts and conservation across Waterloo Region.
