AN INVESTMENT IN PEOPLE: Kitchener Public Library puts 'money where our mouth is’ in quest for representation

Kitchener Public Library’s Access to Education Fund was launched in 2022 to invest in a robust library future – with more diverse leadership that represents the communities it serves. The fund aims to reduce educational barriers for equity-seeking KPL staff who are pursuing the education needed for roles in libraries.

Tiny City Makers

Tiny City Makers is an arts-based therapy program designed for the residents of A Better Tent City (ABTC). All proceeds from the sale of products compensate ABTC residents and the facilitators for their time and materials. This program aims to enrich the lives of ABTC residents by offering self-sustaining arts programming that inspires hope.

Winter Market Graphic
KW's Big Band Theory has been performing Christmas favourites for at least 10 years at The Registry Theatre, partnering with the theatre for annual fundraising concerts.

In 2025, their December 13 & 14 performances will support The Waterloo Region Record - Lyle S. Hallman Foundation Kids to Camp Fund, which helps send children and youth in Waterloo Region to camp.
