Year-end giving

As we head into these final weeks of the year, it’s a natural time for people to consider if they are in a position to make charitable donations. If you are thinking of doing so before the end of the year for a 2025 tax receipt, here are some of the most common ways you can do that:

  • CHEQUE - cheques, made payable to Waterloo Region Community Foundation (or WRCF) with a note in the memo line indicating which fund you are donating to, can be mailed to: WRCF, 200-2 King St W, Kitchener, ON, N2G 1A3 (envelope postmarked no later than December 31). If you would prefer to coordinate a drop off or pick up of a donation via cheque, please contact Dan at dan@wrcf.ca or 519-725-1806 x 205 (by December 15).

  • ONLINE – online donations can be made here via Credit Card/PayPal/Apple Pay/Google Pay, and just select the specific fund you want to support from the alphabetized drop-down menu (by December 31).

  • PHONE - credit card donations can be made over the phone (by December 19) by phoning Dan at 519-725-1806 x 205 or Mackenzie at 519-725-1806 x 207.

  • E-TRANSFER – if you want to make an e-transfer donation, please email dan@wrcf.ca or mackenzie@wrcf.ca (by December 19) to get the necessary information.

  • SECURITIES – if you want to donate securities, click here to access our form. You’ll want to initiate the donation with your broker no later than December 15 to avoid any holiday processing delays.

  • If you require urgent assistance beyond December 23, please email dan@wrcf.ca.

Thank You for Giving Where You Live through WRGive

Between September 24 and October 29, 2025, our community came together to support eight local projects through WRGive to help strengthen social infrastructure across Waterloo Region.

We are pleased to announce that approximately $50,000 was raised during this pilot campaign.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who donated—your generosity is helping build a region where everyone feels connected, supported, and like they belong.
