The Cloverleaf Foundation Making a Difference in the lives of Ukrainians Seeking Refuge in Waterloo Region

Waterloo Region, ON – $50,000 donation in support of Ukrainians fleeing war in Waterloo Region
The Immigration Partnership of Waterloo Region is pleased to announce a $50,000 contribution by the Cloverleaf Foundation to the Immigration Partnership Fund for Immigrant and Refugee Initiatives at Waterloo Region Community Foundation.

As the situation continues to evolve in Ukraine due to Russia's military actions, millions of Ukrainians have scattered around the world seeking refuge. Canada pledged to welcome an unlimited number of Ukrainians. So far, nearly 230,000 have been approved to come to Canada and Waterloo Region has welcomed around 1,200 Ukrainians fleeing war. This generous contribution by the Cloverleaf Foundation will enable local organizations to meet some of the most pressing needs of Ukrainians moving to the region.

“Cloverleaf aims to make a difference, so I'm proud to say our members pledged all the Foundation’s giving this year to supporting those impacted by this tragic war. While we've helped facilitate relief efforts on the ground in the Ukraine, we also thought it important to leverage funding to support refugees settling in the Region. We’re pleased to partner with the Immigration Partnership and Waterloo Region Community Foundation in making that happen,” said Cloverleaf’s President and Waterloo Resident, Bill Carter.

Tara Bedard, Executive Director of the Immigration Partnership stated, “The Immigration Partnership wishes to express its deep gratitude to the Cloverleaf Foundation for this important contribution. The needs across the community are great and this donation will help improve the quality of life of Ukrainians living in the region.”

Individuals and businesses are encouraged to donate to the Immigration Partnership Fund for Immigrant and Refugee Initiatives. The fund (www.wrcf.ca/immigrationpartnership) currently focuses on supporting Ukrainians fleeing war and Afghan and other refugees settling to Waterloo Region.
